The Master's Degree in Osteology offered by the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the National University of Rosario (UNR) has recently received important recognition for its programme focused on specialised training in bone health: official approval from CONEAU.

In Argentina, the National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation (CONEAU) is the body that regulates and ensures the academic quality of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Its approval means that the Master's Degree meets rigorous standards of quality, relevance and curricular strength, guaranteeing a high level of academic training for health professionals interested in furthering their knowledge in the field of osteology.

In addition to this national recognition, the programme has received academic endorsement from the IOF, a distinction reserved for programmes that demonstrate scientific excellence, strengthen specialist training and promote continuous evidence-based updating. For the IOF, supporting postgraduate initiatives such as this one is essential to promoting the training of professionals who can lead strategies for the prevention, diagnosis and management of osteoporosis and other bone diseases in Latin America.

The Director of the Master's Degree in Osteology, Dr María Lorena Brance, stated that ‘receiving the endorsement of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) for the Master's programme represents recognition of the sustained work in training specialists committed to bone health, which encourages us to continue promoting academic excellence and quality research, strengthening the international exchange of knowledge in Osteology.’

In addition, Dr Lucas Brun, Deputy Director of the Master's Degree in Osteology, explained that ‘joining the IOF University Network allows us to enhance scientific and academic cooperation, connecting our teachers and students with leading institutions worldwide in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis.’

The first cohort of the Master's programme will begin in April 2026, and the enrolment period began on 1 November 2025 and will run until 31 March 2026, providing an opportunity for professionals from across the country — and the region — to join a high-impact academic programme.
