WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2025 in Rome distinguished by strong participation and high-calibre scientific programme

We are delighted to announce that close to 9000 researchers and healthcare professionals from over 60 countries attended the world’s largest congress dedicated to musculoskeletal disorders, including osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, sarcopenia, and frailty. The WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2025, held jointly by the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis, and Musculoskeletal Diseases (ESCEO), took place at the Roma Convention Center La Nuvola from April 10-13, 2025.
Professor Jean-Yves Reginster, Congress Co-Chair and President of ESCEO, highlighted the significance of the event:
“With the global population aging, advancing research and achieving clinical breakthroughs in musculoskeletal health have never been more critical. The growing urgency in the field is reflected in the exciting new research and clinical advances that were presented at the Congress this year. I extend my sincere gratitude to the Programme Committee, Scientific Advisory Board, and Abstract Reviewers for their invaluable contributions in shaping this year’s outstanding scientific programme."
"As the largest and most influential annual event in the field, with 8667 participants (3998 onsite, 4669 virtual), this year’s edition represents a landmark occasion for the international bone, muscle, and joint community."
The WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2025 Congress featured 60 Oral and Poster presentations selected from a record-breaking 1,686 abstracts submitted, 10 Plenary Lectures, 12 Meet-the-Expert Sessions, 12 topical and joint symposia, 46 Non-Sponsored Symposia, 4 Educational Lectures, and 9 industry-sponsored symposia.
To extend accessibility, key sessions were recorded and are available to registrants for three months post-congress. The event was accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 23.5 European CME credits (ECMEC®), which can be converted into AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
