IOF is dedicated to encouraging young researchers in all parts of the world to focus on the bone research and to progress their careers in this important field. As a sign of this commitment, IOF has offered the presenting authors (40 years old or younger at the time of the Meeting) of the top-ranking abstracts submitted to past IOF Regional meetings.

The prize winners are awarded a grant and certificate. The winners are also invited to present their work to an international audience and key experts during a dedicated plenary session. To date IOF has awarded more than 60 IOF Young Investigator Awards to researchers across all continents.
