Thank You to Professor Stuart Ralston

Since becoming Editor-in-Chief in 2000, Professor Ralston has guided CTI through a period of remarkable growth. During his tenure, the journal became an official journal of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF), significantly increased its annual submissions, improved publication times, and strengthened its scientific impact.

Among his many contributions was the introduction of highly successful themed special issues, which have featured influential reviews by leading experts and helped raise the journal's international profile. He also expanded the journal's scope to encompass broader musculoskeletal research, reflecting the close interactions between bone, muscle, and tendon.

Reflecting on his tenure, Professor Ralston said he was proud to leave CTI as a leading platform for basic, translational, and clinical musculoskeletal research, confident that the journal is well positioned for continued success.

Welcoming Professor Roland Chapurlat

Professor Roland Chapurlat joins the editorial team as Associate Editor, working alongside Editor-in-Chief Professor René Rizzoli. A Professor of Medicine at the University of Lyon and internationally recognized expert in bone and joint diseases, Professor Chapurlat brings extensive research and editorial experience, with more than 400 scientific publications.

New Publishing Procedures

CTI is also introducing continuous article publishing (CAP). Articles will now be assigned directly to the current issue upon online publication, enabling faster final publication, improved citation, and a more efficient publishing workflow. Special-topic articles will continue to be grouped in curated online collections.

Together, these changes position CTI to continue delivering high-quality research while meeting the evolving challenges of scientific publishing.
